The Satellite Development Organization (SatDev) is a registered student organization at the University of Illinois that specializes in the recruitment, training, and retention of student workers in the Laboratory for Advanced Space Systems at Illinois (LASSI). SatDev is part of the Department of Aerospace Engineering in the Grainger College of Engineering. However, we recruit students from all science, technology, engineering, and mathematical disciplines, from chemistry to materials science to electrical engineering. We will find a place for you if you're interested in designing, building, and testing satellites with our members in LASSI. Our members currently organize and run AE 199 SAT, an introductory cubesat course designed for freshmen, set for launch in Spring 2020.
